MIMOSA PUDICA - with Gaia Fugazza - Artist Performance

Mimosa Pudica is a performance that imagines a future where humans expand their knowledge through interaction with other species (specifically plants). The performance will be a shared ritualistic experience between audience, performer, and the Mimosa Pudica plant. The Mimosa Pudicas leaves fold inward when touched and will be choreographed as part of the performance, and are also traditionally used for their antifertility properties.

The performance will consider the use of the contraceptive pill and will ask the audience to hold a small porcelain sculpture in their mouth without swallowing, raising the participants awareness of their presence.

After the performance there will be an open discussion with artist Gaia Fugazza.
